                   Every Sport event has its own charm.  Grand Slam Tennis championships were played in the month of May and June 2003 and as usual All India Radio made special efforts to broadcast resume and updates of these matches over AIR.

 

                   French Open Tennis Tournament was played from 26^th May 2003 to 09^th June 2003 and Wimbledon Tennis tournament was played from 23^rd June to 08^th July 2003.

 

                   Central Sales Unit took full advantage of this, and made vigorous effort to market the event.  Many prestigious clients reciprocated by allowing their brands to be heard over radio during this Sports event e.g. M/s. Heinz India Ltd., sponsored the updates of the French Open Tennis Tournament over 8 FM Rainbow Stations.  Similarly, for Wimbledon Tennis Tournament Sponsorship of Voice cast over 27 Primary Channels was taken by M/s. Eureka Forbes and updates on FM by M/s. Voltas.

                        The rates for commercials during the Live commentary of the Championship
are as under :-

 

a)     Spot – buy rate for the match           Rs.5,000/- per 10 seconds

b)     Sponsorship                                                    Rs.50,000/- with FCT 120 seconds plus four credit lines of 5 seconds each

c)      Sponsorship of Goals                        Rs. 2,000/- per goal.

          A sponsor who sponsors all the matches will be entitled to 10% discount.
