Every
sport has its own charm, but Cricket has always been a mega event for sports
lovers. Interesting match that went
on air between October - November, 2003 was India, New Zealand and Australia
Cricket Series played in India. This
cricket match attracted famous business houses to utilise our medium to promote
their products. The brands were Crocin, Ranbaxy Products, Iodex, Dabur
Products, Videocon, Hero Honda, Vicks, Pepsi, Fevicol, Castrol Products,
Reliance Mobile, Prefetti Products, Maruti Suzuki, LG Range Products, Novino
Batteries, Mortein Coil, Titan Watches, BPCL, BSNL and Himani Navratana Oil.
Revenue gained from this particular match was Rs.3 Crores approximately.
Now,
AIR is agog with the Triangular Cricket Series of 15 One Day Internationals (ODIs)
being played in Australia between India, Australia and Zimbabwe from 9th January
2004 to 10th February 2004.
All
India Radio brought a great opportunity to our advertisers to reach millions of
listeners across the country by putting their ads.
Undoubtedly, the response from our patrons was overwhelming as AIR
announced some attractive packages to the clients.
Vigorous marketing efforts made by CSU could bring some big brands on the AIR Running Commentary. India Oil Corporation & VICCO Laboratories were the main sponsors, taking sponsorship valuing Rs.25 lakhs each. HDFC has taken the sponsorship of the last 3 ODI matches amounting to Rs.3 lakhs.

ABOUT
US
The
year 2003 was full of achievements to All India Radio in terms of revenue
earnings through advertisements. The
theme of the year was TEAMWORK where everybody contributed his or her best to
achieve the goal. Central Sales
Unit witnessed an upsurge in the bookings of commercials from many aspiring
clients who utilized our revised Rate Card with enthusiasm. The response was so overwhelming that CSU crossed the targets
fixed for the year and succeeded in making in-roads into new areas.
The achievement was more noteworthy in the light of the fact that despite
many private players in the field available to the clients with variety of
offers, we could continue to receive support from our advertisers.
We are marching forward with the hope that AIR will continue to receive
patronage from our esteemed clients in the coming times.
It is hoped that new landmarks will be created by CSU in terms of revenue
earning.
